FAQ

Here are some common questions that should help most people out right away. If your question is not answered in the ones below, don't hesitate to contact us with your questions.

1. What is exentrique?

Exentrique is a commenting community which you exchange comments with other website owners.

2. How long until I get accepted?

Most of the time you will be able to know if you got accepted between 1-3 days of signing up. Sometimes on the same day.

3. Why was I not accepted?

There could be a simple reason why you were not accepted or something bigger. Does your site meet all the requirements? If it does then you could contact us one week after your registration date to find out what is going on or why you were not accepted.

If you email us "Why was I not accepted?" you may not always be answered.

4. I have to put my site on hiatus what do I do?

Just go into your Preferences and put your site on hiatus mode. You will be taken out of the next rotation and will not have to comment on anyones site and no one will be sent to yours.

5. The link rotation isn't working on my site, what's wrong?

If you cannot get either the php code or the javascript code to work on your site, then just link to http://www.exentrique.com with a regular link.

6. I was assigned to a site, but when I went there I got a 404 or it was on hiatus. What do I do?

Give the site about one hour and check back. If it is still down flag the site. Then check the site again in 2 days, if the site is still down flag the site again. Then a staff member will look into the situation.

7. I'm not getting any emails, I can't comment on the sites!

If you're not getting the emails, check your spam folder if you have one. It may have gone there. If for some reason you do not receive an email from Exentrique go to your Preferences and your sites are listed there! Also, please contact us if this happens.

8. What is Don't Mail Me?

Don't Mail Me is a feature you can use if you do not wish to receive the emails but still want to be in the rotation! You will still have to comment on sites and you will still get people commenting on yours. It is simply not to receive the email. You will have to visit the site every three days to get your sites to visit list.

9. How do I report someone that was supposed to comment on my site but didn't?

If you have a member that did not comment on your site but was supposed to then please make sure to flag them using our flagging system. You can locate that in your account under Sites To Visit, if the flag link does not show up then they still have time to comment on your site. We would like to weed out the people who are not going to comment.

10. How does the flagging system work?

The flagging system is simple enough to use and only takes a second of your time. The system is used for reporting people whom don't comment on your site, if their site is on hiatus and you are unable to comment on their site, or if their site is not working at all and you have tried several times unsuccessfully to comment. What we do is take into consideration all of the things that may happen in real life and in the internet world. Face it, servers do go down or life happens without you expecting it. If someone's account is flagged then it is brought to the staffs attention. We may or may not contact you if you have been flagged. We do check to see if the site is working or if the person overlooked a comment that the flagged person left. If the number of flags on your site exceeds what we believe to be ridiculous then we will deactivate your account and contact you.

11. What are you planning with Exentrique's future?

Well, we are planning on branching out not having it be just a comment site but a site which features many useful things for website owners and non-website owners. We will always be a comment exchange but hope to one day not just be a comment exchange. You'll have to wait to find out what we're planning though!

12. I've reported someone but I don't think anything is being done about it!

Please rest assured that something is being done about all flagged accounts. We let each account have 3 chances. After their 3rd flag they are deactivated from the rotation and can only redeem their account through an email to us. All our active users have 0-2 flags which are checked daily. We don't think that we should have to send warning emails to anyone due to the fact that you have signed up for the comment exchange and know what it entails. You read what the rules were to keep your account and know what will happen if you don't uphold yourself to those rules. We're not here to babysit people and give chances but to take action.

13. I still have a question! or I have a suggestion. What do I do?
